How much does this cost?
Every project is quoted individually after a free consultation, because an honest price requires understanding the work first. Quotes are broken into milestones — fixed steps with clear deliverables and a price on each — and you only pay for a milestone when it's delivered and you've approved it. Small automation projects and website work generally cost less than people expect; if your budget and the project don't fit, I'll say so in the first conversation instead of wasting your time.
I'm not technical at all — is that a problem?
Not even slightly; non-technical owners are exactly who I work with. You never need to learn technical vocabulary: we talk about your business — jobs, schedules, invoices, customers — and I translate that into software. Every check-in is in plain English, and if I ever say something that sounds like jargon, you get to make me rephrase it.
I'm just starting my business — is custom software overkill?
Usually a launch doesn't need "software" at all — it needs a website that actually does what your business does: takes the right kind of bookings, collects deposits, quotes the way you quote. That's a scoped, milestone-billed project like anything else here, and because it's built on a real foundation, it can grow into job tracking, invoicing, and automation later without starting over.
I already built a site on Shopify or Squarespace and it's not working for me. Can you help?
Yes — this is common. Those builders are genuinely good until your business doesn't fit their template. Sometimes the fix is taking over and improving what you have; sometimes it's rebuilding on a foundation that fits. The free consultation is where we figure out which, and I'll tell you honestly if staying on your current builder is the better call.
What if it breaks after you build it?
You're never abandoned after launch. Every project includes a warranty period where anything that doesn't work as agreed gets fixed free. After that, a monthly maintenance plan keeps everything watched, updated, and fixed — or, if you'd rather not pay monthly, you can simply call me when something comes up. Your software and your data are always yours either way.
How long does a project take?
It genuinely varies — a small automation is a different project from a full custom application, and an honest timeline requires understanding the work first. What I can promise is that you'll know before anything starts: your proposal includes a specific timeline broken into milestones, and because work is delivered milestone by milestone, you're using working software along the way instead of waiting months for a big reveal.
Do you only work with local businesses?
No. I'm based in South Carolina and work with small businesses everywhere — everything about the process, from consultations to check-ins to training, works fine over a phone or video call. Locally, that includes Columbia, Lexington, Camden and the rest of Kershaw County, Sumter, Florence, and the towns around them. Being nearby is a convenience, not a requirement.
Can you work with the systems I already use, like QuickBooks?
Yes — that's one of my main services. QuickBooks, scheduling tools, payment processors, and email can almost always be connected so information flows between them automatically instead of being retyped. Keeping the tools you already know and making them talk to each other is often better than replacing everything.
What's the free consultation like?
It's a 30-minute conversation, by phone or video, about what's eating your time — no slideshow, no sales pressure, no obligation. You describe how the work flows through your business, I ask questions, and I tell you honestly whether software would help and roughly what it would involve. If I can't help, I'll tell you that too, and you've lost half an hour, not a deposit.
