How it works
This works like hiring a good contractor.
You describe the problem, you get a clear quote, the work happens in stages, and you pay for each stage when it's done and you've approved it. You've done this before — just not for software.
Step 1: Free consultation
Thirty minutes, by phone or video, no obligation. You talk about your business — how jobs come in, where the paperwork piles up, what keeps you at the desk after everyone's gone home. I ask questions and listen.
By the end, I'll tell you honestly whether software can help, roughly what it would involve, and what I'd tackle first. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say that too. Nothing here costs anything, and you walk away with a clearer picture of your options either way.
Step 2: Proposal with milestone pricing
If we both want to move forward, you get a written proposal in plain English: what gets built, broken into fixed milestones, each with a clear deliverable and a price — the way a good contractor bids a job in stages. No hourly meter running, no open-ended "we'll see how it goes."
You approve each milestone before paying for it. That means you're never funding vague promises — you see finished, working pieces, and you decide the project keeps going. If priorities change halfway through, the milestones can change with them.
Step 3: Build, launch & support
I build in short cycles with regular check-ins — plain English, no jargon, always something real to look at rather than status reports. You'll be clicking through working software early, which is exactly when your feedback is most useful.
When we launch, I don't disappear. Every project includes a warranty period, training for you and your staff, and the option of a monthly maintenance plan that keeps everything updated and running. You're never abandoned after launch.
In short
The short version
Free conversation. A clear quote in stages, and you pay for each stage when it's done and approved. Working software early and often, support after launch, and plain English the whole way — the hiring experience you already know from every good contractor, applied to software. The riskiest thing in the process is a half hour of your time.
